Circumference of a finger.
Follow these directions to measure the circumference of a finger.
You will be making a ring out of paper and tape. Then cutting it and measuring
the length of the cut piece.

You will need, paper, scissors, tape and a ruler.
- Place an approximately 12.5cm (5 inches)
long piece of tape at the corner of the paper along one edge.
Place a second piece right over top of the first piece.

- Turn the paper over and place two pieces
of tape so that they are directly over the tape on the other
side.

- Cut out the taped paper so that you have
neat edges and the corners are at 90 degrees.

- Cut it lengthwise into two pieces so that
one length is about 6 or 7 mm (1/4 inch) wide. Then, cut
about 15mm (1/2 inch) off of the other piece.

- Place a piece of tape about 25 mm (1
inch) long lengthwise on the end of the longest piece that you
have cut. Take the shortest piece and stick it to the tape in
the middle, at 90 degrees to the long piece.

- With the sticky side of the tape up, wrap
this around the finger. If the knuckle is larger than the area
where the ring will sit, wrap it around the knuckle. Fold the
tape with the short piece on it over so that it forms a ring
around the finger.
- Cut off any excess length.

- This paper/tape ring should now be able
to slide on and off of the finger. Adjust it by lifting
the tab on the tape and repositioning it tighter or looser, till
it fits the finger well. Slide it on and off. The ring that you
have made should be snug but not tight.
- Carefully cut the ring that you have
made, making sure that the cut is straight and not angled, and
lay it on a ruler. Measure the length of the cut
paper/tape ring to the nearest mm (16th of an inch).

This measurement is the circumference of the
finger. From this measurement I know the finger size!
Enter it into the order form.
